PMDU: Team Troubled Waters Temp Application

Yep, I'm migrating Team Troubled Waters into PMD-U. I really just didn't want to see these guys go! As a result, the character bios may wind up a bit long winded and a little vague, but hopefully that won't be too much of a problem. Anyhow, on with the bios!

Shawn

Background: Shawn's earliest memories are of him being raised by his dewott mother in a small lakeside settlement. As a young oshawott pup he was very carefree and energetic, especially around his mother, whom he adored and idolized as a hero. It was not hard to see why, as the dewott was known to be something of a paragon among the local pokemon. She was as selfless as anyone could imagine and would give no pause before rushing to help a pokemon in distress...which could happen often thanks to the perpetual fog. Inspired by her moral drive, Shawn wished to be as strong and brave as his mother.

Unfortunately, Shawn's mother passed away as a result of a particularly dangerous rescue attempt, leaving the young oshawott heartbroken and very demoralized. For nearly the rest of his time as an oshawott, Shawn became very timid and devoid of self confidence. A family friend named Nauxis took him under his wing, attempting to renew his spirit. Both pokemon took up he late dewott's mantle in helping any unfortunate pokemon they encounter, fog or no fog. Through all the adventures and hardships he endured, Shawn hoped to become what his mother used to be.

By the time Shawn became a dewott, his spirit had been largely restored. He was still modest and somewhat shy, but he has been making larger efforts toward being assertive and speaking his mind. He is very much driven by the morals handed down to him by his mother, and will always take action if someone is in need. This is why he made his way to Andalusst through the fog after hearing about the good work the guilds do there. If there was any group who could brave the fog for the benefit of others, Andalusst had them. After Nauxis offered to join him, the two packed up for the fabled city.

Personality: Shawn is a good-natured young dewott who puts others before himself. On any normal day he is a bit shy, but easy to make friends. He stutters a little when he is nervous. In the presence of a pokemon in danger, his resolve is solidified and will do what he can to help however he can. He may panic a little if things fall out of control in stressfull situations, but lately he has been better at controlling himself.

Character Relationships:
Nauxis: Shawn has a deep respect for Nauxis since the bird pokemon "adopted" him, and he relies on his wisdom and guidance. Unconditionally lets Nauxis ride on his head.
??? Shawn encountered an energetic young traveler at his home village. The traveler seemed content to stay for a while and help Shawn with his tasks before she ran off into the fog again seeking "adventure." Shawn considers her a good friend, and hopes that they cross paths again.

Final notes:
His left scalchop was one of his mother's: she had fashioned it herself. Acts as a memento
He gained his right scalchop after he evolved to a dewott. He carved it to look like his mother's directly afterwards. With both scalchops, he feels like both him and his mother are working together to help those in need.

Nauxis:

Background: Nauxis was something of a family friend to Shawn and his mother. The natu first encountered the 'wott family when he became a rescuee after mistakenly flying into an elevated patch of fog. After encountering an angry Tauros in the mist, he became injured and was unable to fly. Shawn's mother found him and drove the Tauros away, allowing her to nurse the natu back to health. Ever thankful, Nauxis became good friends with the benevolent dewott, even long after his rescue.

After the passing of Shawn's mother, Nauxis took the Oshawott under his wing. He felt that he owed Shawn's mother the favor of rekindling his spirit. He assisted Shawn in any way he could during his tasks and ordeals at their village, trying his best to recreate what he saw in his good friend. He was very happy (if a little proud) when Shawn's disposition took a turn for the better around the time of his evolution. When Shawn suggested traveling to Andalusst to join a guild, Nauxis immediately offered to join him. He is determined to care for Shawn at least until he is certain he can take on the world on his own.

Personality: Nauxis is a soft-spoken pokemon, knowing both how to speak kindly and deliver menacing undertones when needed. To other pokemon, Nauxis is generally friendly, though can be curt in frustrating situations. Nauxis rarely gives up on a task he sets out to do, but he is aware of his limitation (aka size). He is fairly skilled at finding alternative solutions to problems should he need to.

Character Relationships:
Shawn: Nauxis acts as a self-imposed father figure to Shawn. He wants only the best for Shawn, and is dedicated to ensuring Shawn's happiness and to enable him to pursue his life ideals.
??? Nauxis encountered an energetic young traveler at his home village. After Shawn allowed her to tag along with their adventures at their village, Nauxis accepted her companionship somewhat begrudgingly. He found her to be a bit loud and invasive, but recognized that she had her heart in the right place. He was a bit relieved when she tore back into the fog seeking "more adventure." Yet every once in a while, he wonders how she might be doing.
